Interviu Judge Jules

Hi Judge, how are you feeling today?Yeah just going through checkout at the airport, I'm good. Me and the wife have just been in Barcelona at the Olympic stadium seeing Madonna, Paul Okenfold was Djing and got us a pair of tickets, right down near the front with 40,000 people in the open air. It was nice.
How is Ibiza this year?In terms of the number of tourists there is no difference from last year but in terms of how much they have to spend it's a bit different due to the weakness of the pound against the euro and the general economic climate. The bigger clubs like Cream and Space haven't really been affected but it is having a massive impact on the smaller clubs.
You have Cream & Radio 1 @ Privilege coming up in a few weeks with - Eric Prydz, Pete Tong, , 2ManyDjs, and Laidback Luke. How does it feel to be playing with such a strong lineup?Yeah, I have played the Radio 1 events every year but it never gets boring.
And then at the end of the summer we have Creamfields, are you looking forward to it?Of course, its the stuff of legends, even after the move out of Liverpool it has still kept the same vibe, If anything they have put in more effort and it sells out months in advance.
Why do you think it is that Creamfields is so successful? They are really on the ball with their bookings, the first Djs and promoters have made sure they have stayed ahead of the game. What with being a major cd releasing brand, they have done great to manipulate the brand and keep pushing so even now in 2009 they are still way ahead of everyone else. You have been at the top of your game for such a long time now, how do you keep going?Hard work to make sure I get the right tunes and the fact that I still love every minute of it. You can't fake that and if you look at my Judgement Sunday sets you can see I still have a massive love for it.Any ideas what you would like to do when it comes time to hang up the headphones?I'd go back into law, that is what I got my degree in and it is something I would love to go back to. Obviously I have no idea when that would be but it is definitely something to go back to probably doing a cool type of law relating to the industry.
And finally, What would be your top tips for anyone looking at breaking through into producing and djing?Make records and do whatever you can, it might sound harsh but it is all well and good being able to be a good bedroom dj putting out mixtapes but unless you can be a good self publicist you aren't going to get anywhere. Get dj slots, put your own nights on and generally just really promote yourself. Thanks for your time Judge have a safe flight and enjoy the rest of your summer.
